Connecticut landscape painter, Jan Blencowe presents A year at Hammonasset , the culmination of several years work painting en plein air, outdoors, on location at Hammonasset State Park in Madison, CT in all seasons, weather and times of day. This collection of paintings captures the diversity and amazing beauty of Hammonasset. Rocky beaches, open marsh land, solitary paths,and windswept dunes each find their place in her work. Each season, spring, summer, winter and fall is represented. There are sunsets, and gray days, snow, the first pale colors of spring and the firey hues of autumn.

Jan Blencowe paints in the American Impressionist tradion. Painting outdoors brings a truthfullness, and vitality to her work. Her love and respect for nature and the ever changing beauty of the coastal Connecticut landscape are her inspiration.
